In October 2025 the Sirius Concert Hall opened on the federal territory — one of the largest venues in Russia, with natural acoustics of the highest standard of design and execution. It has become a landmark that shapes the architectural image of the federal territory and attracts lovers of classical art and performers from all over the world. Building the Concert Hall was a logical step in developing the Arts, which President Vladimir Putin made part of the Sirius Educational Centre concept from the start.
A unique feature of the Concert Hall is its versatility: an opera and ballet theatre can be turned into a philharmonic hall in 20 minutes. The Main Stage is suitable for all kinds of performing arts.
Inside the building
The 11-storey building houses two concert halls — the 1,200-seat Main Stage and the 500-seat Chamber Hall — plus three rehearsal halls for ballet, orchestra and general use. The 1,700 m² main foyer is also unique: it can be transformed into a museum and exhibition space.
The acoustics were designed by world-renowned Yasuhisa Toyota. The building has a total area of 48,942 m² and a maximum height of 51 m. Stage machinery uses special theatre systems developed with Kunkel Consulting. Designed by young Russian architect Andrey Litvinov, the Concert Hall unites the architecture of the federal territory with the surrounding landscape through expressive forms that echo the majesty of the Caucasus Mountains and the power of the sea.
Rehearsal halls:
- ballet rehearsal hall;
- orchestra rehearsal hall;
- multi-purpose rehearsal hall.
Where generations, cultures and arts meet
From day one the new venue has brought together different generations, cultures and art forms. On the opening day, 3 October 2025, the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev performed together with pianist Mikhail Pirozhenko, winner of the VII Constellation Young Musicians Competition and alumnus of the Sirius music performance programme. President Vladimir Putin personally assessed the venue’s equipment and acoustics during the concert.
Today Sirius hosts outstanding orchestras and soloists from Russia and abroad — from the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theatres, the Vienna State Opera, the Moscow Philharmonic and the Republic of Tatarstan. The Orchestra of Nations under Justus Frantz and Igor Butman’s Moscow Jazz Orchestra perform here, as do iconic artists — the voices of our time — such as Denis Matsuev, Vittorio Grigolo, Ildar Abdrazakov, Elena Stikhina, Olga Peretyatko, Dmitry Korchak, Vadim Repin, Miguel Sheba and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, along with the young generation of performers, including soloists of the St Petersburg House of Music and young finalists of the Constellation competition — alumni of Sirius music programmes.
The Concert Hall is the future professional stage for students of the Sirius Specialised Music School.
