The Sirius Associated Partner Schools project

Since the 2023–2024 academic year the Talent and Success Educational Foundation has been running the Sirius Associated Partner Schools project. It is building a network of leading schools across Russia’s regions that work with the Foundation’s methodological support and consistently develop teaching in lower secondary (grades 7–9) and upper secondary (grades 10–11) education — including advanced mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science, supplementary and extracurricular education, and student research and projects together with technology companies and regional industry.

The main goal of the project is to train specialists for critical technologies in the regions, in line with Russia’s Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development and regional development priorities.

Methodological support

All lesson kits, teacher guidelines and presentations, and student handouts are developed by the Foundation’s resource and methodology centre, specialists from the Association of Sirius Partner Schools and the methodology centres established on their basis.

Teachers also attend methodology seminars and receive continuous advice. Each teacher is assigned a Foundation mentor from among the most experienced subject teachers, and professional development courses are offered both in person and online.

Sirius has created a single educational space for the project and monitors and analyses teachers’ work throughout the year, identifying achievements and difficulties and planning further training and support. As a result, every teacher receives individual recommendations on organising the learning process.

Project work and extracurricular activities

All students in the project’s specialised classes do research and project work supported by regional centres based on the Sirius model, universities and regional companies, and take part in the Lessons of the Present and Sirius.Summer project programmes.

In April 2026 another student project competition took place. Students received recommendations for developing their projects further, and Foundation experts prepared guidelines for schools and regional centres on project work with students.

In the 2025–2026 academic year two professional development programmes for project-work teachers were held at the Sirius Educational Centre, and the Foundation’s resource centre runs monthly webinars on making student project work more effective.

The project also transforms schools’ supplementary education and extracurricular activities to allow differentiated and personalised learning based on students’ interests and abilities. For students in grades 5–8 the Foundation organises the Intellectual Marathon olympiad to build interest in mathematics, computer science and natural sciences and to encourage a conscious choice of specialised study in senior school. The Foundation has also developed extracurricular courses and guidelines for grades 5–6.

An important element integrating general and supplementary education is the theme weeks devoted to the priorities of Russia’s Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development. In 2024–2025 there were weeks on artificial intelligence, genetics and biomedicine, and microelectronics; in 2025–2026 — on agrotechnology, modern energy, and logistics and telecommunications.
